And, with a fully integrated warehouse execution system and robust software coordinating the whole operation, you’ll boost productivity with multitenant inventory and voice-directed fulfillment operations backed by mechanized cross-docking and order consolidation technologies.
Micro-fulfillment Center (MFC) Solutions
Micro-fulfillment centers are emerging as a key 3PL strategy for enabling a hub-and-spoke fulfillment model — one where regional DCs serve as a central hub and multiple MFCs are located closer to customers in densely populated urban areas. This integrated fulfillment strategy is helping 3PLs to improve much-needed last-mile or last-hour delivery windows. Honeywell Intelligrated’s MFC solutions combine proven AS/RS shuttle technology, goods-to-person (GTP) order consolidation, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and high-density cube storage for high-velocity, small-footprint automation. Designed for mass retail and food retail applications, our MFCs can store from 5,000 to 15,000 SKUs and within a 6,000 to 20,000 sq. ft. footprint — and can include any combination of ambient and refrigerated storage. Our MFC automation technology retrieves goods from storage and delivers them to GTP order consolidation stations. AMRs transport totes from supporting manual pick stations with high-velocity items to GTP stations.
