In September, InControlWare® Version 1.7 was released for general use on new Intelligrated® system projects. This release includes a large number of new features, enhanced performance, and routine product fixes.
InControlWare® User Interface Platform has been enhanced for more flexible configuration, greater performance and better security. All of the user interfaces can now be configured to run in a single application with Launch Center, Command Center, and Support Center being selected using a tab. The features allowed for each user are now loaded and unloaded as part of the login and logout process.
Launch Center has been modified so that the control system can be started and stopped remotely. By moving all of the controller support applications to services, local and remote users can start or stop the system and Launch Center does not need to be left running.
A full History System has now been released. This includes data capture and reporting for events, containers, devices, induction, sorters, merges, and scanners. The time interval for data retention is configured for each type of data. A new Alarm system has also been added with the History System.
Version 1.0 of IntelliStar™ was also part of Release 1.7. IntelliStar™ had been in beta test for more than six months prior to its release.

Remote support for Intelligrated® Systems has always been a one of our strengths. Easier to configure for our clients and more secure than traditional VPN, IntelliStar™ provides a 24/7 connection to InControlWare® systems for support and technical personnel. IntelliStar™ is a powerful enhancement to our current capabilities delivering new levels of simplicity and security.
The IntelliStar™ service, installed on InControlWare® Controllers and Database Servers, is more secure since it only makes outbound connections from client sites to a secure system behind the Intelligrated® firewall. It is also more secure since all users must be logged in to the Intelligrated® domain to gain access. Client IT departments only need to configure their network to allow IntelliStar™ servers to connect to a single external IP address – a fast and easy process. Once connected, Intelligrated® staff can provide over-the-shoulder support using SecureVNC, a special version of VNC adapted for secure operation.
Existing sites can be upgraded to use IntelliStar™.
